How we check
Every fact has a source and a date
Travel information goes stale fast. Entry rules change, ferries run differently and tickets go up. So with us you can see where each fact comes from and when we last checked it.
Official sources first
Entry rules, visas and safety come from government and immigration websites. Prices, timetables and opening hours come from the websites of transport operators, sights and cities. Blogs and reviews are only ever a lead, never a source.
A date on everything
Every ready-made guide shows the date it was checked on the cover. Inside, facts are tagged “Checked” (confirmed with a current source) or “Estimate” (an approximate value, such as an exchange rate). At the end you get links to the sources so you can check anything yourself.
A second, independent check
Before we hand over a tailored guide, it goes through a separate fact check. In our samples it caught wrong ferry days, old prices and a Korean phrase that meant the exact opposite.
Regular re-checks of ready-made guides
Every quarter we go through all ready-made guides again: entry rules, fees, seasons, timetables and links. Whatever changed is fixed in both languages and the date on the cover moves forward.
Nobody can buy a place in our guides
We pick places and stays because they suit the route, not for a commission. We don’t publish paid reviews. Some booking links are affiliate links: if you book through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, and it has no effect on what we recommend.
AI as a helper, not a source
AI helps us research and write. But a chatbot sounds just as sure when it’s wrong, so we trace every claim to an official source. Anything we can’t verify is marked as an estimate or left out.
